GUILDS
The seventies (i.e. the 1970’s) did not only see the bestowing of the first elected Church President, the late Rev. BST Dladla, but it also saw some structural changes within the church with the formation of Guilds as we know them today viz. the Women’s Guild (WG) first, followed by the Young Men’s Guild (YMG) lately referred to as the Men’s Guild (MG), and finally the Young Women’s Guild (YWG).
Women’s Guild (WG):
In the early seventies, 1973 to be specific, under the Leadership of the Jeffrou Hlatshwayo (popularly known as Mama MaDlokovu) from Tembisa the women of the church started the Women’s Guild. Amongst these many women pioneers there was the late Gogo Khumalo from Wattville who also played a pivotal role in this formation process.
Naturally Jeffrou Hlatshwayo was elected as the first President of this Guild, the position she held until she was called back home to heaven.
In the year 2004 at a convention held at Katlehong Jeffrou KV Ndaba who is from the Wattville branch was elected as the Second President of this Guild. Prior to this she also served as the Secretary of this Guild under the Leadership of Mama MaDlokovu.
In the year 2007 at a convention held at Tembisa Jeffrou TT Ntuli from the Mamelodi branch took over the reins when she was elected as the President. In the year 2010 at a convention held at Motjane Jeffrou Ntuli from Mamelodi was re-elected to the Presidential office of this Guild.
In the year 2013 at a convention held at Standerton Jeffrou MF Nkambule from the Mantabeni branch was elected as fourth President of this Guild, and she was the first candidate to be elected out of Swaziland. In the year 2016 at a convention held at Witbank Jeffrou MF Nkambule retained her position as the President of the Guild. At the same time, she also served the Young Women’s Guild as their Treasurer.
At the convention held in Piet Retief in 2019, Jeff. NY. Nkambule was elected as the president of the Women’s Guild
Young Women’s Guild (YWG):
This Guild is the youngest of them all three (3) Guilds, it was established in 1986, that same year Jeffrou LN Maseko from Iswepe was elected as the first President of this Guild, she led this Guild for more than twenty-one (21) years a remarkable record in leadership.
Only in the year 2007 at a convention held in Tembisa did the leadership of this Guild changed, when Jeffrou ZM Maseko from Springs (KwaThema) was elected as the second President of this Guild. Jeffrou Maseko proceeded to lead for six (6) years.
In the year 2013 at a convention held at Standerton Jeffrou HJ Ndlandla from Leslie was elected third President of this Guild, she led this Guild until 2016.
In the year 2016 at a convention held at Witbank Jeffrou KV Ndaba from Wattville was elected as the fourth President of this Guild, and Jeffrou NF Maseko from Sheepmoor was elected as the Deputy President of this Guild. It is during the Leadership of Jeffrou Ndaba that the numbers of the YWG members grew exponential and it was evident in all church events.
At the Piet Retief Convention, Jeff. KV. Ndaba was re-elected the president of Young Women’s Guild
Men’s Guild (MG):
In the year 1976 under the Leadership of the late Rev SP Phakathi from Mamelodi the Men’s Guild was established, with Rev Phakathi becoming the Guild’s first President.
Rev Phakathi led this Guild for some time until he was replaced by Rev FM Cindi from Soweto becoming the second President. Rev Cindi was later replaced in the office by the late Rev NF Vilakazi from Katlehong the third President.
In the year 2001 at convention held at Pietermaritzburg Rev VE Ndlandla from the Leslie branch was elected to lead this Guild as its fourth President, and Rev MC Zwane from the Volksrust branch was elected as the Deputy President. For the first in the history of this Guild a Chairperson position and Rev HVD Khumalo from Soweto was elected as the first Chairperson.

This structure would soon have its own leadership when they sit for their first youth convention to elect leadership and putting their structures in place.
