WELCOME TO THE SWEDISH FREE CHURCH OF SOUTHERN AFRICA

The Swedish Free Church (hereby referred to as SFC) is a spiritual child of an evangelical organisation called the “Scandinavian Alliance Mission”. The “Scandinavian Alliance Mission” was founded by Evangelist Fredrik Franson in the year 1890. In the year 1901 Evangelist Franson dispatched to Southern Africa a young Swedish Missionary Klas Arvid Hjelm (1878-1964), who was later to be affectionately known as “Mvana”.

Mvana literally translates to the “Small Lamb” as this name was bestowed to him by his African converts when they observed his soft, kind and humble nature.

Mission:

The SFC is to preach Gospel of the living GOD to all, so that they repent and accept Jesus Christ as their personal saviour.

Vision:

The SFC with its principles and commitment is to preach the Gospel of the living GOD to the people of Southern Africa and the whole world.

To encourage people to accept Jesus Christ as their personal King, Guider and Saviour and

To live according to his calling, teaching and footprints.
